Ms. Bartoli Class

Recently in Ms. Bartoli’s class we have been learning about fibers and using the microscope. Forensics class is a very interesting class and we’ve learned a lot so far about human decomposition and everything that relates to that. However, we started looking at cotton and examining it under the microscope with different lens magnifications. When we first started looking at cotton using the microscope it was very annoying because you have to focus the lens and most of the time in the 400x magnification lens, you couldn’t even see the cotton. So I had the ask for help and adjust the light till I was able to see the cotton. At first the cotton looked very weird because it looked very stringy and plastic like and it was all over the place under the microscope and looked very tangled. We haven’t gotten that far in our lesson on fibers, but I’m looking forward to looking at more different, unique fibers under the microscope. The class is very interesting and hopefully we end up doing a very fun project at the end.

The Wedding Ringer!!!!

So last weekend I went to see “The Wedding Ringer” with my grandmother and my grandmothers friend, which is also like my aunt. Anyways I was mad because I really wanted to see “The Loft” because I like drama films that have many twist and turns. However, I’m glad we saw “The Wedding Ringer” because it was extremely funny. If you don’t know this movie stars Kevin Hart (So you already know it was going to be funny). The movie was about this business that Jimmy, who is Kevin Hart, started for men that didn't have any friends or best friends to have them as their best men. Jimmy would fill in and play as the man’s best man and even get some grooms men if needed, but that cost extra. This particular guy he had to help and do business with didn't have any groomsmen at all and needed 7 of them. This movie was hilarious and had was extremely crazy because some of the stuff going on was outrageous, but I guess that’s what made it funny. I loved Kevin Harts role in the movie because he was a very playfully, funny guy that also got his business done. I loved how the movie had a lesson at the end, even though it was suppose to be funny. Jimmy always wanted his clients to know that what they were doing was just business and that they weren't actually friends. However, his secretary told him that he had to stop thinking like that because if he really sat down and thought about it, he would not have any groomsmen or best man if he ever decided to get married because he always pushed people away. At the end of the movie the man called off his wedding realizing he didn't actually love his wife and Jimmy put his feelings aside and became best friends with the man. So moral of the story is stop pushing people away and be open.     

Passion: Nails

One of my passions are my nails. I get them done every two to three weeks and when I don’t have them done I feel very weird and almost like somethings missing. Anyways I love getting my nails done, not because I am trying to be cute, but because I love the creative aspect of it. I am allowed to be as creative as I want and I can express myself in a unique, beautiful way. I get different shapes of nails like stiletto, coffin, oval, square and more. My favorite is coffin nails (That’s the shape of nail I have now). I usually try to get outrageous designs that will pop out and draw people’s attention. However, If I don’t get crazy designs I try to get distinctive colors that look well together and that pop out and is very flamboyant. My most favorite nail design that I've had was when I had stiletto shaped nails, with a real nice subtle pink and then I put clear rhinestones at the bottom. It was extremely pretty. However, now for some reason I have been feeling the urge to get very nude colors because they are just extremely pretty and simple. Maybe my style is just changing or maybe this is a phase. Anyways, I love Matte nails. Matte is a overcoat that makes the nail polish look extremely dull, but it is the most prettiest thing I've ever seen. I really don’t know why i’m obsessed with Matte nails, but I love it. Anyways, nails popping!!!

Class Poetry Presentation

Over the break we had to do the poetry presentation and we had to memorize our 14 LINE SONNETS!!! Plus Ms. Hegeman made ME go first! She said that life is unfair so I had to go first. I did good though for my first time because I stuttered like once or twice, but I knew my poem because I had studied it over the break line by line. This presentation made me be able to memorize and present poetry and be able to explain what the poem means. Even though, my interpretation was kind of wrong I got most of it right. It was just one be part that messed me up. I have realized that I really `need to work on my interpretations and trying to figure out what the poems mean. However, it is hard for me because every time I think I know what a poem is talking about, I get it wrong or only get half right. I guess I just have to keep working on trying to understand what I'm reading and try annotating more because that may help me figure out what's going on in the poem without asking for help. I like poetry sometimes, but I hate when I can't understand it and it's really the language they use that gets to me because I can't understand exactly what they mean. Anyways, hopefully I did a good job on my presentation and get a good grade because I really did try to interpret it and memorize it and have it ready for the day we come back.

My BirthDay Thoooooooooooo!!! #Sagg

So guysssssss, my birthday is this Saturday, December 13th! I'm finally going to turn 17 years old. I'm kind of excited for my birthday, but not that much because most of the time my birthday just feels like another day to me. However, this birthday I will be going out with some of my friends to the movies and hopefully I will have a good time. I was inviting almost everybody because I wanted everyone to come (Laugh Out Loud) :D. Taylor was telling me my birthday movie day was going to turn into a senior trip. If it does I don't mind, but you know how you invite people and some will say they're going to go and end up not coming. So it doesn't really matter if I invite a lot of people. I really, really, really want my donuts tomorrow. Donuts are sooooooo good. Teanna bought me some today and she made my day!!! Shout out to Teanna!!! But anyways, I guess I’m excited for my birthday, but this year it’s not that serious to me. I feel for my 18th birthday, I might really go all out and enjoy myself. Especially since this senior year is so stressful and hectic, I’m not really focused on my birthday right now. All I’m praying for is for me to get those college applications in and figure out what I’m doing with my future and where I’m going with my future. Anyways, I will be turning 17 soon and shout out to all my Sagittarius because we’re definitely the best!

Jhene Aiko Keep Your Head Up (Cover) SSR

The song “Keep Your Head Up” originated from rapper Tupac. Singer Jhene Aiko covered the song and I loved her version because she made the song sound so angelic, serene and full of passion. Jhene Aiko’s voice is so simple, but it makes you listen and want to hear more. When I heard this song covered by her, it really made me think about what’s been going on in the world. I love the part when she says “You know it makes me unhappy, When brothers have babies and leaves a young mother to be a pappy, And since we all came from a woman, Got our name from our woman, And our game from our woman”. I loves this part because it’s a real problem in the world because men are making babies and not caring for them. Children shouldn't have to grow up without a father because some men prefer to not take care of their responsibilities. I also don't understand how some men could just leave a woman all alone with their child when they were birthed by a woman. Men should have respect for woman because of that simple fact. I also love the part when she sings "I think it's time we kill for our woman, Heal our woman, Be real to our woman, Cuz if not we'll have a race of babies that'll hate the ladies that make the babies, And since a man can't make one, He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one". This part stuck to me because I never thought about it that way and I actually agree because if some men are going to act as if they don't have a child and just not take care of them, then they have no say so in if a woman has a baby or not. Woman are the ones that struggle to take care of the generations because men don't know how to be real men.

Ms. Tomlin's Class

Lately all the teachers have been giving us an abundance amount of work and projects. This weekend I have to do two essays, work on two presentations and make a poem. I feel the teachers are giving us a lot of work and are putting a lot of pressure on us. Anyways Ms. Tomlin class is very funny and enjoyable. However, I hate how much work she continues to give us because it piles up and begins to be too much. Even though I know she gives us these presentation projects to prepare us for the future, it can just be very over whelming. For only the third month in school, I feel very stressed. Anyways Ms. Tomlin's class is very funny because of her personality and the jokes we can make in class. Also the topics are very interesting because we learn things about the government and how they operate. Even though the class is interesting I am still sometimes extremely confused because things like the process of making a law is very complicated to me because there are so many steps to it. I feel that eventually when she gives us a test, I will have a hard time with it. However, I am going to work hard at it because she is not lenient with her grades.
